Inspiration – It Can Come From Anywhere

Hello there!

The other day I was just hanging out playing my acoustic and had a series of deep thoughts going through my head. As I sat there and played some mellow melodies, one thing stuck out more than the rest of my ongoing thoughts.

~INSPIRATION~

Where exactly does it come from? Why am I feeling it? What do I do with it? etc… Well folks, let me first tell you my story of how and why I became so infatuated with the Amazing World of Music and the person who inspired me to do so. Made me want to Learn it; Play it on an Instrument; Write/Create it; Teach it and try to Inspire others. You get the picture.

For me, it was because of one of my oldest brothers. When I was at a young age, I kept seeing him plucking on a guitar for quite some time. I always thought in my head that it was cool, but I never actually sat down and listened to him play. One day, I just randomly decided to sit in and check out what he was actually doing. Well, doing so was one of the absolute best decisions I had ever made. Listening to him, quickly opened my eyes and made me want to do what he was doing. And boy did I ever! This was over 20 years ago and the impact that it had, Enlightened, Fueled, and made me NEVER want to quit (not once) Playing & Creating music. EVERY single time I pick up my guitar, beat on the drums, or plug my mic in and just start singing away, I think about that particular time (all those years ago) and realize the amazing impact it had on my life. It has made me a much better & happier person. It has made me really appreciate every aspect of art. It has definitely brought out the creativity in me and the ones around me. The power of music is absolutely incredible!

Speaking of my older brother, he never quit either. In fact, he has excelled substantially and has a pretty good band up in Portland, Oregon. Yur Daddy is their name (awesome, I know) and every time I listen to them, the good memories just come pouring in.

You might be asking yourself, “That’s cool, but WHY did it inspire you?” That’s simple! I was already a pretty creative person, but when I actually listened and “saw” the music, I instantly fell in love with it and wanted that same amazing feeling that I used to get like when I was little and was excited to open up presents on Christmas. The only way I knew how to accomplish this, was to pick up a guitar, learn how to play it, and start creating beautiful music. I didn’t just want it in my life, I wanted it to be a big part of my life.

~ Life is Music, and Music is Life ~

There you have it. My simple, yet awesome story. An older sibling of mine inspired me to want to achieve greatness in the music world. I have personally known people that have said their inspiration came from; Walking around in the woods; Staring at a lake; Playing video games; Watching a movie; Listening to a speech; A Dream, etc… See, it can come from just about anything, anyone and/or anywhere.

Thank you for reading my little Inspiration rant, and if you have a story of your own, I would love to hear all about what inspired you to get involved in music.

Thanks again for reading, and as always,

Keep Rockin!
